Does SENAITE support patient protocol numbers or anamnesis forms?

Hi,

I’m currently setting up SENAITE for use in a clinical lab environment, and I have two related questions:

  1. Does SENAITE support generating a “protocol number” or “service ticket” when a patient is registered or a sample is collected?
I understand that each sample has a unique Sample ID, but I’m wondering if there’s a way to generate a formal protocol or receipt for the patient, like a service confirmation or request form.

  2. Is there native support for entering clinical information, like a patient’s anamnesis (symptoms, medical history, medications, etc.)?
If not, what would be the best approach to include or attach this kind of information to the sample or patient record?

Any suggestions on how to achieve this via customization or integration would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

hi!

Great choice - I’m sure you’ll adopt it to your process in a time.

  1. Generally speaking, yes — Senaite generates IDs out of the box and can print anything you need when a registration or reception event occurs.

I believe this should be sufficient for the task, but if you’re looking for something more advanced, it shouldn’t be too difficult to implement.

  1. Sample object itself supports attachments - so you can attach any files you want there:

However, it seems more reasonable to use a dedicated EHR system for managing medical records, while the LIMS component focuses on automating laboratory workflows.
