I would like to manage the portlets as seen in the picture below.
Does anyone know how I can remove or add an item to the menu?

in SENAITE 2.x you can go to @@navigation-controlpanel, e.g. http://localhost:8080/senaite/@@navigation-controlpanel to manage the visible content types.
In SENAITE 1.x you need to go to ZMI → portal_properties → navtree_properties, e.g. http://localhost:8080/senaite/portal_properties/navtree_properties/manage_propertiesForm
