Hi, I am running Senaite v2.6 with the Patient module, and I haven’t found where I can configure reference values for males and females in complete blood count (CBC) tests. The Analisys Service “Limits” tab has no fields for reference values.
I will mainly use Senaite to perform clinical analyses on patients.
Could you please help?
Hello,
You can use analysis specification in setup menu and then enter the reference values for each test.
After that you need to select the created one with the samples during sample registration.

Hi @haideralwaqfi, are you referring to the “Dynamic Analysis Specifications” option?
I took a look at the quick guide available on the Senaite website and found the following topic:
‘Analyses Specifications are defined per Sample Type and can be added in the LIMS Setup. Click on the button in the upper right corner, choose the Analysis Specifications tile, and then press the Add Button.’
However, this option is not available in the version of Senaite I’m using, v2.6.
Only “Dynamic Analysis Specifications” option is available.
Hi,
The analysis specification is already existing on version 2.6.
Find the attached screenshot.
Regards,
Yep, it´s there.
Thank you.
Hello @haideralwaqfi.
It is still not clear to me how I can configure Senaite so that a complete blood count (CBC) test can be registered and requested. What is the sequence of configuration steps?
My current need is to register a CBC with all its analytes (RBC, HGB, MCV, HCT, MCH, MCHC, RDWsd, RDWcv, PLT, MPV, PCT, PDWsd, PDWcv, WBC, LYM, MON, NEU, EOS, BAS, PLCR, PLCC) and their respective reference values for (men, women, children).
I´m going to try to insert all analytes as part of Analysis Services, for example, RBC Male, RBC Female and so. But I think I gonna face some issues with keywords (RBC, WBC, etc) during the parsing from HL7 packets coming from the instrument to Senaite.
Thank you in advance for your guidance.
Hello @haideralwaqfi,
I think I find a way to get everything together and test the workflow from the patient admission to the sample request.
Thanks anyway.
